Dr Christopher Barker
Specialist Periodontist, BDSc, BScDent (Hons I), DClinDent (Perio), FRACDS
Dr Chris Barker is a Queensland-based periodontist who specialises in the full scope of specialist periodontal treatments: He is one of the few in Australia who is able to provide the minimally invasive laser periodontal treatment LANAP®, and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT).
He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2004; was awarded First Class Honours in 2005; completed Clinical Dentistry Doctorate, specialising in Periodontology, at Griffith University in 2014. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and was awarded an honouree fellowship to the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy. Chris has completed the Long Surgical Course Certified from the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Chris has been a junior lecturer and clinical tutor at the University of Adelaide and Griffith University.
Chris is also a published author; his research on modifying factors of bone resorption, and bone production has been presented at domestic and international conferences. He received research grants from the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation and the Australian Society of Orthodontics.
He is currently the president of the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS), a former president Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), the director of Sunshine Coast branch of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Before setting up his own practice, Chris worked in government and private practice roles in Adelaide, Brisbane and regional Queensland. He still frequently travels to regional Queensland to provide periodontal treatment to patients living in rural and remote areas.
Chris lives in Brisbane with his wife Wendy, and they have three young children. He enjoys getting outdoors and has a keen interest in rugby and mountain trekking.
Dr Leah Gosden
Dr Leah Gosden graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011 with her BDS (Batchelor of Dental Surgery). After working for the NHS she then moved to Brisbane to join her husband Ian.
They moved to Biloela November 2012 and Leah has been the resident dentist here ever since. After having her first daughter in 2017 she moved to working part time and welcomed a second daughter in 2019.
She is dedicated to providing the best possible standard of dental care and to that end is currently undertaking a Masters in Advanced General Practice with the University of Birmingham.
Under the training of experts she has developed additional skills in the treatment of decay, tooth wear, replacement of teeth, management of gum disease, root canals and cosmetic dentistry, all while supporting minimally invasive dentistry and prevention.

Dr Alexandra Davies
Dr Alexandra Davies graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma in Dentistry in 2014.
Alex has a love for, and excels in all fields of dentistry with a particular interest in Endodontics and Facial Aesthetics. In 2007 Alex became a dental assistant and helped manage the dental practice in Samford Village, where she later worked as a dentist when she graduated in 2014.
2018 saw Alex begin locum work in Biloela. Alex enjoys her time in Biloela and has grown very fond of her co-workers and patients.
In 2020 Alex left Samford to open her own dental practice in Arana Hills, she still locums to Biloela. Alex is a firm believer in working with other allied health practitioners, and values honesty and transparency when it comes to her patients’ treatment needs. She keeps active and healthy, and enjoys the outdoors
